Wednesday 10/31

pre calc -   took out quiz on rational functions and grabbed notes on conics and circles.  No hw.






alg I -    started out unit on functions/ / parent functions.  hw is p. 303 #1-3, 5, 6   due Friday.

Tuesday 10/30

pre calc -   last day at working on rational functions; we reviewed yesterday's problems and did whiteboard work on the key features of a rational function.  Lastly, we took notes and did group practice on oblique asymptotes.  Quiz is tomorrow, make sure you are prepared.





alg I -    today was our performance task and last day of our graphing unit.  No hw.

Monday 10/29

pre calc -   Most of the class was taken up by the Interim Assessment, but we did review a problem from Friday and there are 2 more graphing problems for hw.






alg I -  We also took most of the period to do the Interim Assessment but we were able to look at a few problems from the unit test we just finished.

Friday 10/16

pre calc-  Another great day with the rational functons.  We did start the class by writing a system from a data set.  We had 6 problems on the board on rational functions that I will collect on Monday.

alg I -    We did a math task involving scatterplots and writing using ACE.  We had 5 graphing problems around the room that was turned in.

Thursday 10/25

pre calc -  Great day today!  We started with calculus limits and then did whiteboards on transformations of the parent rational function.  Closed with notes on rational functions.  No hw.





alg I -  Period 4 worked on frequency tables and scatterplots and the other classes took their unit test.
No hw.

Tuesday Wednesday 10/23 and 10/24

pre calc-  We took our test to complete our unit.   Mini unit and quiz to happen in the next week.




alg I -  Period 3 took their unit test on Tuesday but the other classes will take it tomorrow.  Period 5 and 6 did a scatterplot and frequency table with probability.

Monday 10/22

Today is a normal schedule but the next 2 days are very different than usual.  Check the website for details/ bell schedule.




pre calc-   today was a review day for our test tomorrow on polynomials.  Keep working on the problems on the review guide.





alg I -   We did another scatterplot activity and we reviewed for our test tomorrow on graphing equations and situations.  Keep working on the review guide to prepare.

Friday

pre calc = we had a warm up to prepare for the test;  questions on the review guide and we did one more modeling problem.






alg I -   we also took questions on the review guide and had a warm up on scatterplots; work turn in and a task on statistics.

Thursday 10/18

pre calc -   we were able to take questions from the review guide/ pre test.  We were also explorted the r-squared feature on the calculator (2.8).  Hw is to do problems on the review guide and bring in questions.




alg I -   we re-did our ferris wheel tasks and then looked at the hw from Wednesday.  Final part of class was the 5 problems around the room.

Our test is on Tuesday and it is about our graphing unit.  There should be 10-11 questions.  Good news:  you will have extra time to take this test.

You can also graph some of the many equations from the warm ups to practice graphing using a table.  You already have the answers to those, so it will be easy to see if you did it right.  Don't forget the answers to problems in the book are in the back, so you can check your answers for those problems, too.

Wednesday 10/17

I was out at a conference today, but there was sub plans for each class


pre calc -  There was page 172 from the textbook #89, 91, 93, 95, 105, 107, 109 117, 118, 123.  Most people got to 117 or 118.  We will look at it tomorrow.  Don't forget to look at the review guide.




alg I -    you had warm up 10 and were to do the scatterplot on page 258  #6.

Tuesday 10/16

pre calc-  we did more practice on preparing for the unit test.  We also looked at the quiz/ hw and:

                            per 1 -  did not take notes for 2.6
                            per 4 DID take notes for 2.6

alg I -   Reviewed the task from Monday; did warm up 9 on graphing using tables;  p. 257 #3,4  finish for hw

update !! review guide pre calc polynomials

Uh, oh!   I am seeing a lot of special schedules in the next week.  I don't think we are going to be able to do the last part of the unit before the test, so there will be no rational functions (2.6, 2.7) on this test.  I believe that would be #8 on the pre test.  We will instead do more modeling 2.8 and keep #7 on the pre test on the test.

Test next Tuesday.  There should be about 10 problems.  The good news is that you should have about 60 minutes to complete it.

The pre test is a great place to start.  With the exception of #6  and 8,  I think the rest will be on the test/.  Obviously, not the same problems but the same ideas

alg I -   On Thursday we took our quiz.  On Friday we did warm up 8 and turned in our work and did a graphing task.

Wednesday 10/10

pre calc -    more solving of polynomials; p. 126 #17, 21,24, 28, 29, 35



alg I -   2 more graphs and p. 220 organizing data and finding central tendency.  All due Friday.

tuesday 10/9

pre calc -   we did one more SOE; short discussion on the Rational Root Thereom then worked in groups on p. 126 #89, 90, 101-103, 111



alg I -    we looked at problem #9 on p. 216, worked on the whiteboards on tabling equations; worked in groups on p. 215 #5-8; finish for hw

Monday 10/8

pre calc -   Quiz is now Friday;  we were in groups working on dividing polynomials; work was p. 124 #13, 16, 17, 23, 43, 47-50, 59.  finish it in or after class.




alg I -  we looked at a variety of filling the bucket problems; after we went to the library to work on Desmos.com.   no hw.

friday 10/5

pre calc -    practiced writing equations by description and using end behavior.  Notes on dividing polynomials.  Quiz now Friday next week.




alg I -   2 more stories to graph and we turned in work.

thursday 10/4

pre calc -   we practiced some alg II skills, reviewed the quiz and had 4 problems to graph for hw.





alg I -     warm up 7;  then we graphed a situation   due Friday!

pre calc -  we reviewed the hw from yesterday and then took our quiz    hw is p.  112  #114-120 even.

pre calc - 3 problem warm up to review 2.1 and factoring;  more work in 2.2 p. 111 # 37, 41, 67, 71, 77,  81






alg I -   we worked on p. 211 #1-5 together and then we tabled 6 more equations.

Monday

pre calc - Great stuff from Friday.  Today we did #110 from pg. 11 and took notes on 2.2 polynom. graphs.  Hw is p. 109 #9-16, 23, 25



alg I -  took some quick notes on how to table any equation in the world and did the 6 problems around the room.
