1- Which One Doesn't Belong - be prepared to chose one and give a justification
3- word problems that you can solve algebraically or with a table
1- linear inequality - don't forget the number line and shading!

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Wednesday 9/13

alg II hp -  Today there was more graph calc practice and a lot more factoring practice.  Hw is pg.  52  #3, 10, 21, 22 in text.

alg II -  We reviewed our unit quiz and then took the pre test for our new unit, quadratics.

alg I -  Today we practiced more linear inequalities, 3 problems in Holt book due Friday,  and then took our quiz on solving linear equations.

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

Tuesday 9/12

alg II hp-  Today we practiced on the graphing calc and tried our hand at piecewise functions.  Today and tomorrow we are reviewing how to factor polynomials.  Hw was to try to factor the 5-6 poly.s that I wrote on the board.

alg II -  Today was the quiz to end unit 1.  No hw, we start our new unit tomorrow!

alg I -     We tried another routine of the "walkabout."  7 problems around the room due on Friday.  We also had some notes on linear inequalities.  No outside work tonight.

alg II quadratic unit

Our next unit is quadratics/ polynomial functions.  It should be about 4 weeks.
Here is the breakdown:  2.1, 2.2, 2.4, 3.1-3.5.

I would expect 2 quizzes, a performance task and a unit test.

The big points are:  solving a quad. for both real and imaginary solutions, identifying key parts of a quad graph, solving a non-linear system.

Here are some videos to help you with your factoring, which is very important in alg II and beyond.
Please do the work necessary to make sure you will not fall behind.

Monday 9/11

alg II HP -  everyone was here today so I assume that everyone now has a graphing calculator, and has seen how to reset the calc and type in an equation and solve.  We also took notes on piecewise functions and will practice them tomorrow.  No hw.

alg II -   We did a unit review and we will have our quiz tomorrow.  Three students were missing so check out p. 20 to see more review problems.  Most textbooks have the answers to half the problems in the back of the book.

.

alg I -  We tried our first Which One Doesn't Belong, then saw how to solve the unknown number algebraically.  Lastly, we worked on a Secret Code and problems 9 and 10 on pg 161

Friday, September 8, 2017

Friday 9/8

alg II Hp -  end of the unit assessment.  We start quadratics next week!

alg II -  We turned in our handouts.  Finished in groups working on an application of transformations.

alg I -   We turned in our work for the week, had a Kahoot and then did whiteboards.

Thursday, September 7, 2017

Thursday 9/7

alg II hp -   First performance task- they only get easier.  Missed you, Lusa!   Quiz tomorrow!

Quiz next Tuesday!

alg I -  We tried an Illustrative Math problem and did problems #1, 4 on pg. 159.  Work due tomorrow and quiz next Tuesday.

Wednesday, September 6, 2017

Wednesday 9/6
