thursday/ friday 4/28

alg II Hp - today we did about 45 minutes preparation and then we took our trig test.  If you missed it, you will make it up when you return to school.  It is a hard test.   Next unit is stats!

alg I p -   today we saw how the quad formula was derived and then used it to solve some systems.   After we watched some videos on the quad formula, we used it on p. 709 # 1  all

wed 4/27

alg II Hp -  today we reviewed the perf task- 2 of the problems will be on the unit test.  We also played Loteria with unit circle and identity problems.   Study!  The test is the next time I see you.

alg I p -  Today we worked on a task that used information from first semester.  Then we looked at some videos on quadratic formula and then put it to practice in the text  p. 704 #12-15

monday/ tuesday 4/25

alg II Hp - today we worked on unit circle review; then we did a trig function application using graphs; lastly we did our performance task for the unit-   test is the last class of the week!

alg I p - today we reviewed solving quadratics through factoring; we worked in pairs on polynomials; we then explored quadratics that are not factorable.   Lastly, we were on the computers doing some coding exercises

thursdaY/ FRIDAY 4/21

alg II HP - today we started class by looking at how to find solutions on the graphing calculator.   Then we did more identities and/ or trig equations.  Finally, we changed trig graphs on the Desmos games.

alg I p -   today we finished the concept connection, then we practiced solving quad.s by factoring.  many of you need more factoring practice so do some this weekend if you need to.

wed 4/20/16

alg II HP - many of you appear not to know the unit circle or the functions very well.  I REALLY suggest working on that until the test - next Thursday.

alg I p - no hw; today we worked on graphing and a Kahoot!  You started a Concept Connection but you will have time in the next class to finish it.

alg II hp review guide trig

Hi class,

2   graphing sinusoid problems

2 solving trig equations

1 writing an equation from solutions (reverse solving)

2  problems on unit circle

1  prove  trig identity

1 on even and odd functions

1  applications of right triangle trig

9.1  #33-38, 47-49
9.2 #33-36
9.3    #9-14, 25-28,41
9.4   #13-16,27-29,37,60
9.7  #13, 17, 26-29

As for equations, the textbook does not have good examples but you should have many in your classwork.  Many turned into quadratics so expect that.  The performance task should have a similar problem for the application.

paz.

monday/ tuesday

We are in block schedule so this blog will count for 2 days sometimes.

alg II HP  -  today we did a cumulative review on the whiteboards that should help when finals come up.  We also did a circle on a trig/ physics problem.  There were a few videos we watched on standing waves (check out Ruben's Tube on youtube)    lastly we did 9 trig problems.

alg I P -   we went over our writing prompts from last week and reviewed last week's quiz as well.  We had the computers and worked on an online graphing calculator and did the Desmos Marble game with quadratics.
Lastly we worked on simplifying radical expressions and Pythagorean.

trig videos

I posted this a few weeks ago but I am reposting it to see if more people view it and make use of the videos.

Here are some videos I found that I thought could be helpful.  Please watch to improve your trig knowledge and practice.

thursday-friday

Hi, I am out for these 2 days but I left with Mr Lamagna, the sub.   Make sure you complete that work.  If you missed either day, check with a friend to see what happened.

I can say that

Alg II Hp - worked on p. 492-493 on these days.  Quiz on Monday

alg I P -  there was a handout that you received on Wednesday 525/ 528.  Both sides were covered on these days as well as a quiz.

Wednesday, April 6, 2016

wednesday 4/6

alg II Hp =- no hw; if you missed today then make sure you get the notes from a friend or they are on a magnet on the whiteboard.   You'll be graphing for the next 2 days and then take the quiz on Monday on 9.1-9.3

alg I p - Today we worked in groups improving our factoring skills.  I passed out handout p. 525 and you worked on 7-10, 19, 37,38

Tuesday, April 5, 2016

Tuesday 4/5

alg II HP =  today we postponed the quiz for tomorrow until next Monday (still on 9.1-9.3).  After more quiz review, we worked on p. 482 #8,10,16,23,24,27

alg I p - today we went over the hw, watched some factoring videos, did a circle on the value of our class and then started the hw:  p. 509 Holt  #1-7
