period 2 review guide

There are 2 parts to the final:  MC of 5 questions and 9 free response.  Should take about 1 hr to 75 minutes.

Below is a description of the test, as well as where it can be found in the book.  If you want to study, go to the end of each chapter (quadratics -3, polynomials -4, radicals -5), and work on problems in the "Chapter Review" section.  I will answer questions on Monday and Tuesday and we will work on problems in class.

using a 2 variable function - 2 (every unit) p. 151 # 13
solving a quadratic - 3 (chapter 3- factoring and quad formula) p. 148 # 2, 3 18
solving a polynomial - 3  (4.5 and 4.6)  p. 194 # 10, 34
multiplying polynomials -1 (4.2)  p. 226 #11
writing an equation from solutions - 1 (4.5)  p. 195 #  41
solving a radical function - 2 (5.4)  p. 266 # 13, 18, 19
dividing polynomials - 1 (4.3)  p. 227 #17
simplifying radicals - 3 (5.2 - #3, 4, 21, 22)
domain and range - 1 (every unit) p. 257 #9, 13, 29-30

you will need be able to find imaginary solutions for some of the polynomial problems
rational exponents (Danny!) will be a part of the test
finding extraneous answers could be on the test so plug back in radical equations to make sure.
