Review Guide for Ch 13

1.     Find all six trigonometric values for 5pi/6 on the unit circle.
2.     Find all six trigonometric values for a terminal side that goes through (3, -4)
3.     If John leaves origin at 40 degrees north of east and Edna leaves origin at 10 degrees west of north, how far apart are they if John goes 100 yards and Edna goes 350 yards?
4.     Solve the triangle that has:

·       Sides of 7, 9 and 12
·       Sides of 8 and 11 with inclusive angle of 75 degrees
·       2 angles: one of 45 and the other 60 degrees with non-inclusive side of 8.2

5.     What is the area of a triangle of:
·       sides 4.5, 6 and 9.
·       Sides 5 and 6 with inclusive angle of 39 degrees
6.     An airplane is descending for landing.  The angle of depression to the beginning of the airstrip is 14 degrees and the angle of depression to the end of the airstrip is 7 degrees.  If the plane is 2 miles high, how long is the airstrip in feet? (5280 ft/ mi.)
7.     If the short leg of a 30-60-90 triangle is 3 times the square root of 2, what is the length of the long leg?


9.     What is the area of a pentagon inscribed in a circle if the radius of the circle is 10 cm?
