Hopefully you have already looked at the review guide and practiced the problems. If not, at least you are reading this and probably still have an opportunity to do so.
Enjoy your break. Make sure you rest and have a lot of fun!

friday 12/16
alg II - We have started working towards the final. Today we tackled polynomial and radical functions (mostly solving but we did look at the box problem again. We were working out of the book but you could just as easily find examples of both functions in your book.
alg I - Today we looked at solving and graphing equations as well as talking about yesterday's unit test. Check the review guide which I posted on a previous blog and do some problems listed in that guide.

review guide for alg I final
There are 2 parts to the test. One is Mult. choice and there are 9 questions on that piece.
The other is free response (typical for our tests) and there are 7 questions. I would guess that it should take just over an hour to complete it.
The mult choice has:
1 writing an equation from 2 points
2 solving linear equations
3 on slope of a line
3 on solving a SOE
The free response has:
1 triangle sum theorem
3 SOE applications
1 scatterplot
1 writing the equation of a line of best fit
1 "which one doesn't belong" that requires justification
Here are some pages in the book that may help you.

monday 12/12
Both classes today were able to use half the class to play on the computers on google games; check out Present Bounce on google santa tracker if you want to see some fun games
alg II- period 1 reviewed solving radical equations and using transformations to sketch radical functions.
period 2 got notes on 5.4 solving radicals and you were assigned 2 problems for hw #6 and 16 in that section.
alg I - there was a little review on SOE and Mr Russell ran through some whiteboard problems. Study for that test on Thursday!

alg I SOE review guide
For our test on SOE, we will have about 9-10 questions. Some will be solving a system and others will be word problems where you can use a system or make a table and find solutions.
2-3 solving a system of equations
2-3 word problems where you have a choice on how to solve
1 on a system where the slopes are the same
1-2 on writing equations from a graph or table (this could be of a horizontal or vertical line)
1 on looking at a table and finding the solution
1 verifying that a point is a solution to a system
Here are some problems in the book to look at:
p. 372 #7
p. 378-80 # 1, 4,5, 9, 11, 13
p. 384 #1abc
p. 390-1 #1abc-2, 7,8, 10abc
The table stuff listed above is not in the book but we did examples in class; we will try to do some more in class this week.
Please ask questions in class if you have any on this guide!

friday 12/9
alg II - period 1 chose to go on to 5.4 so we took notes on solving equations and then did p. 266 #1,3,6,8,17-19
period 2 chose to do another day on 5.3 and worked on p. 256 #9-14
There will be either a quiz or a test next Thursday and the final review guide will be up later this weekend.
alg I - We started out looking at some problems together and then finished in partners doing "Jackson vs. Benjamins" SOE task.

thursday
Myself and Mr Russell were at a conference all day so the sub delivered the work to you:
alg II - you were to do #19-26 and 41-43 in section 5.5 in text.
alg I - p 390 #1-4 this work was supposed to be turned in to the sub see me if you haven't done that yet.
Hope that all was well and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

tuesday 12/6
alg II - Today was a review of the work from Monday as well as the rules of exponents. WE also took notes for 5.2 and no hw. We will pick it up again tomorrow.
alg I - There is now a quiz on Wednesday. If you missed today, too bad. We had the computers and did a Kahoot and the Desmos game Race Dot. No hw but make sure you finish the work from Monday.
Monday, December 5, 2016
monday 12/5
alg II - We didn't look at the unit tests which we will do tomorrow. However, we did a pre test on the next unit (radical functions) and took notes on 5.1. hw pg. 241 #4,5,12,16,19,34
alg I - more work on SOEs; in fact we have a quiz on Wednesday on them. hw tonight is p. 378 #4,5 and in class we went over 1-3 on the same page.
Friday, December 2, 2016
friday 12/2
alg II - TEST day!!! Very good effort, I hope all are happy with their scores. No hw
alg I - we turned in the work for the week as well as worked on more SOE applications. No hw.

thursday 12/1
alg II - we did a very good review today to prepare for tomorrow's test. Loteria and whiteboard work on solving equations and writing equations from solutions as well as the volume problem.
alg I - Most of the classes did the Boomerang activity, though since period 4 did it yesterday, they did the 4 problems on the board today.
